NWS extends 'Heat Advisory'

SOUTH-CENTRAL, Ind. - The National Weather Service in Indianapolis announced on Wednesday that the "Heat Advisory" will continue for south-central Indiana until Friday, September 4, at 8 p.m.

The 24-hour extension includes Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, Brown, Decatur, and Shelby Counties.

Expect Heat Index values up to 108 degrees through the period.

NWS reminds residents that hot temperatures and high humidity can cause heat illnesses. Citizens are advised to drink plenty of fluids, limit their time outdoors, and check up on neighbors and relatives.
