North Vernon water flushing ends August 7

The City of North Vernon is continuing to conduct routine, controlled flushing of its distribution water system through at least Friday, August 7.

The flushing may cause some change to the color of your water. This discoloration consists primarily of harmless silt and air and does not affect the water's safety.

If you experience discoloration in your water after crews have been flushing in your neighborhood, clear the pipes in your home by letting all water faucets run for a few minutes.

North Vernon Water Superintendent William Spencer said, "We thank you for your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."
